Fact Checker (Multi – Lingual)

Location:- Work from Home (Remote)

Essential Skills and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in any arts, humanities, or STEM field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English language copy-writing skills 
• Ability to read and write a regional Indian language: Telugu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu
• A keen eye for detail 
• The ability to grasp new and complicated information quickly
• A strong understanding of the political and media landscape in India. 
• The ability to work well to tight deadlines 
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to remain impartial and critical while writing on complex and sensitive topics.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Professional newsroom, fact-checking, or other editorial experience of one to four years
• Familiarity with fact-checking skills and techniques and/or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques
• A master’s degree in any arts, humanities, or STEM field
• Expertise in a complementary discipline or subject (e.g. Economics, Politics, International Relations, Public Health, National Security)
